Attendees should have a basic knowledge of how to use InDesign. The training covers how to use InDesign’s features to make documents created from it more accessible for users with disabilities, but it is not a full beginner’s course in using InDesign as an application. It may also be beneficial if attendees have some prior knowledge of accessibility standards and principles, as can be gained from the free Introduction to Digital Accessibility course.

In this course, you'll learn how to make the most of the newest accessibility features in Adobe InDesign CC to ensure your audience can make sense of your content first time regardless of any impairment.
The course runs through the techniques and tools within InDesign as well as a live example so you can see the changes being made in real time, and the benefit it gives the end user.

Meet your trainer - James Baverstock
James Baverstock is an Accessibility & Usability Consultant at AbilityNet. His role includes carrying out design reviews, accessibility audits, user testing and providing in-depth consultancy to organisations on web accessibility and usability.
His background includes experience of website management, automated testing systems and consultancy on digital policies and standards. He is accredited with the Certified Professional in Web Accessibility (CPWA) qualification awarded by IAAP and holds an MSc in Information Systems from City University.
